Connecting with India that is Bharat - for Youth
At the Tamil Nadu State Committee meeting held on 12 June 2026 in Puducherry, SAFIER — the educational initiative of Sri Aurobindo Society — shared its vision for youth engagement. Shivakumar emphasized the theme of India That is Bharat, urging young people to discover the deeper truth behind the nation’s identity and to live by the inner spark of the Psychic Being. He highlighted Yoga as the many‑sided path through which India rises today.
Education of the Soul
Priti spoke on the transformative role of Poetry, Art and Music in nurturing the soul. Drawing from Sri Aurobindo’s insights, she explained how poetry refines emotions, art brings stillness to the emotions, and music deepens and unifies the inner movements. Centres were encouraged to begin with indigenous poetry, folk arts, and local music traditions, making them the foundation for programmes that awaken aesthetic sensitivity and inner growth.

Pathways for Youth & Children Centres
Together, Shivakumar and Priti outlined practical activities for Tamil Nadu centres and branches: 1-day and 2-day youth camps leading to national-level participation, children’s centres - Aurokids promoting art-based learning, and exposure visits to Puducherry for adults. Self-development practices such as Kolam and Savitri painting, along with study of foundational texts like Brain of India and the Uttarpara Speech, were identified as pathways to nurture both individual and collective transformation.
